Natural Hazards Research Australia offers powerful online tools designed to support
evidence-based decision-making in disaster resilience and emergency management.
These resources—developed by the Centre and its predecessor, the Bushfire
Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) help translate research into practical insights.

Inquiries and Reviews Database

Inquiries and Reviews database contains a catalogue of 348 inquiries and reviews.
These relate to emergency management and natural hazards across all states and
territories in Australia between 1886 and 2024.

An output from the Bushfire CRC the database is supported, updated and promoted
by the Centre and used by government, the emergency management sector,
research and educational institutions and private industry to:

  • compare equivalent
  • recommendations between inquiries, themes and jurisdictions
    track inquiries across jurisdiction, year and types
  • download and work with all inquiries and listed recommendations for your needs.

Value Tool for Natural Hazards

The Value Tool provides an accessible list of peer-reviewed, non-market value
estimates to support economics professionals and policy makers decision making for
natural hazard management. 

The Value Tool should be used in conjunction with the Guidelines: Value Tool for
Natural Hazards which illustrates how intangible values can be used to make
decisions and assist with the prioritisation of resources.
