The Chairperson of SDMG (where leadership is not already defined in relevant National Plans) nominate a senior officer to assume overall responsibility for control and coordination of each disaster event to ensure a decisive and effective response. At Local level the Act provide for the CEO in consultation with the LDMC to appoint a public official/s with required training and competence as Local Controller.
